My first blog - Aug. 18, 2008

Hey Everyone!
First off, I just want to say that I am so excited to have a blogspot of my own. Thank you, Alicia! Secondly, don't be surprised if I only get around to updating it like once a month lol. Well, here goes nothing!
So, I just got back from kids camp on Friday and it was incredible!!! It's so awesome to see God moving through children! I had a terrific bunch of third-grade girls that immediately took to calling me Jojo lol. We had a blast playing together, praying, worshiping, and running around from activity to activity. There was one girl in my cabin who accepted Jesus as her personal savior fir the first time! And three other girls recommitted their lives! I was so proud of them all and just filled with wonder as I thought about how God was going to use them!
Chapel with Kevin Gear was incredible. Kids and adults both learned about keeping their "shirt" clean, breaking down walls, the baptism of the holy spirit, and hearing God's call for their lives. I saw kids praying for kids, Jr counselors finding their calling, and first time counselors gain more confidence in their leadership abilities. God was at camp and his spirit was moving so powerfully! I'm still in awe!
I have also come home with a sense of God's power and calling in my own life. I feel God challenging me to become more active in my faith and in my ministry. Not necessarily taking on more projects or programs, but to invest more in the ministries I am already involved in. Also, God has placed one teenager very strongly on my heart. God has mighty, mighty plans for her and I feel him using me and calling me to help guide her and to be her support. Eric is also feeling God place her on his heart as well.
I also feel that God has used kids camp to bring Eric and I closer together. He has seen and experienced the power of God through children and has a greater understanding of what ministry is and why I am a part of kids ministry. Our minds, hearts, and goals in ministry are beginning to merge and God is beginning to use us as a team, as equals, rather than me dragging him along with me. It's amazing to see God working in Eric and I am truly greatful and blessed!!!
